Classic controls with a modern twist

The Danelectro 66BT ships to you with a master volume control, master tone control, and a 3-way switch. Don't be fooled, there are tons of tonal options to be unlocked. This axe has a vintage-inspired single-coil pickup in the neck and a dual lipstick humbucker in the bridge. Here at Music Planet, we're big fans of lipstick humbuckers and their thick, powerful attack. When you're running through a dirty amp, you'll get a ton of crunch and low-end response without losing definition. Meanwhile, a clean amp can create awesome jazz tones. If that's not enough, the master volume control is a push/pull pot that splits and adds extra chime to the humbucker.

Vintage-styled Semi-hollowbody construction

Danelectro is known for its instantly recognizable body designs and avant-garde styling. The 66BT is no different. This reverse-offset body shape simply drips with vintage vibe and distinctive Danelectro styling. The semi-hollow construction adds sustain and extra presence to the sound. Thanks to the alder centerblock, it won't feed back as easily under high gain. The maple neck has a curvy headstock, die-cast tuners and a 14" radius pau ferro fingerboard that work together to complete the vintage look of the Danelectro 66BT.

Frame construction: Instead of being a single block of solid wood, the body is built from a thin plywood or masonite top and back attached to a wooden frame that runs around the perimeter and in the center.

Air cavities: This leaves hollow chambers inside on either side of the center frame. They aren’t completely hollow like an acoustic, but they aren’t solid like a Strat or Les Paul either.

Center block: The wooden center strip supports the bridge and neck, reducing feedback compared to a fully hollow guitar while still giving some of that airy resonance.

Tone result: The semi-hollow construction gives the Danelectro that slightly “woody,” open sound with a bit more sustain than a full hollow body, while keeping it lightweight.
