This semi-hollowbody electric guitar features a laminate figured maple body for a bright, rich, and resonant tone. Seymour Duncan β59s deliver Holy Grail humbucking tone
The DβAngelico Excel DC comes loaded with a set of Seymour Duncan β59 humbuckers. The β59 is Duncanβs take on Seth Loverβs legendary PAF (Patent Applied For) pickup design. This vintage-inspired pickup is excellent for all applications, producing a purebred humbucker tone with a warmth and clarity to meet todayβs playersβ needs. The sound is routed through a 3-way toggle switch with independent volume and tone controls for each pickup. The tone pots are push-pull, giving you access to a range of snappy single-coil sounds. From jazz and fusion to blues, rock, and country; from chimey rhythm parts to blistering leads β and everything in between β the DβAngelico Excel DC delivers.
When you pick up the DβAngelico Excel DC for the first time, youβll marvel at its inviting 3-piece maple/walnut neck. The "C"-shaped neck carve sits soundly in your hand, encouraging quick play up and down the 22-fret rosewood fingerboard. The instrumentβs comfortable playing feel is a byproduct of its 24.75-inch scale length, which makes bends and vibrato feel effortless. Meanwhile, the double-cut flame maple body provides a bright tonal foundation, while enabling seamless high register access.
The DβAngelico legacy
After mastering his craft during an 18-year apprenticeship, luthier John DβAngelico opened his own shop in Manhattanβs Little Italy in 1932. Catering to New Yorkβs many jazz musicians over the next three decades, DβAngelico and a single apprentice became New Yorkβs foremost stringed instrument builders, creating over one thousand treasured archtop guitars until Johnβs death in 1964. Following his passing, the DβAngelico legacy lived on only through his rare, legendary instruments. After decades, the DβAngelico brand has resurfaced, bringing back the playability and attention to detail of the companyβs New York roots. DβAngelico uses state-of-the-art manufacturing processes and the finest available materials to create playable works of art for todayβs guitarist. From a modest shop in Little Italy to the world stage, DβAngelicoβs dedication to quality craftsmanship ensures that this brand wonβt be going dormant again any time soon.
