The Electro-Harmonix Big Muff Pi Hardware Plugin brings the character and warmth of genuine analog circuitry into the digital recording environment. Rather than relying on software emulation, audio is processed through the actual analog circuitry of the Big Muff Pi, allowing real clipping diodes and overdriving transistors to shape the sound.
Connect the Big Muff Pi Hardware Plugin to your computer via USB and use it with popular DAWs including Pro Tools, Ableton Live, Cubase, GarageBand, Logic Pro X, Reaper and more. It can also function as a 2-in/2-out USB audio interface, allowing you to record with or without the Big Muff effect engaged.
The pedal shares the circuit design of the legendary 1973 Violet Ram's Head Big Muff, updated with true stereo operation, Tone Wicker and Tone Bypass functions. Up to ten presets can be stored directly on the pedal and accessed via the footswitches, making it equally useful for studio recording and live performance.
While the Big Muff is renowned for its distinctive guitar tones, the Hardware Plugin can be used to add analog distortion, sustain and character to a wide range of sources including keyboards, drums, vocals and other instruments.
