Vox has long defined the sound of British rock and pop, and the new Hand-Wired series keeps that legacy alive with two exciting additions: the AC15HWR1 and AC30HWR2. Both amplifiers are hand-wired for authentic tube tone, now voiced with Celestion Greenback speakers to deliver a more mid-forward voice with faster, punchier breakup.
The AC15HWR1 brings 15 watts of classic VOX character in a compact package. The Greenback speaker gives it tighter lows and warmer mids, letting the amp sing even at lower volumes.
The hand-wired circuitry, EL84 tubes, and vintage-style phase inverter preserve the subtle harmonic nuances that define the VOX voice. Players get two channels - Normal and Top Boost - and a BOOST switch that adds midrange grit, along with tube-driven spring reverb and a transparent effects loop.
Every note responds with sensitivity, capturing the dynamics between pick attack, finger pressure, and volume.
The AC30HWR2 builds on this voice, delivering 30 watts of tube tone through dual Greenback speakers. The amp’s larger format allows for a fuller low end, while the midrange growl remains focused and articulate.
Top Boost and Normal channels remain true to the VOX tradition, and the onboard reverb plus FET-buffered effects loop integrate seamlessly with pedals.
